Sweet Laurel Lodge

Breathe in the fresh mountain air and let your cares melt away in the Sweet Laurel Lodge. Sleeping 8, this four-bedroom, four-bath home is tucked in the wooded seclusion of Lake Toxaway and provides all the comforts of home. Sweet Laurel Lodge offers several sleeping accommodations, from the master’s queen-sized bed, to the additional queen and five twins, with select bedrooms having access to private baths.

The wood interior of the home creates a warm ambiance, and is complimented by the living room’s stone-stacked fireplace and floor-to-ceiling windows.The kitchen is fully-equipped with both large and small appliances, making cooking a breeze. Enjoy dinner at the eight-person table, or take your plates to the deck and settle in a lounge chair to enjoy the view.

From the porch, guests can see the Lake Toxaway Golf Course, but the home is still private thanks to the lush greenery.
For your convenience, Sweet Laurel Lodge is complete with internet, and guests have an option to access the Country Club’s amenities during their stay. With club membership, golf, tennis, croquet, as well as dining at the
club is available.

Optional access to the Lake Toxaway Country Club is available from April - November. *subject to daily resort and usage fees*

  We loved every minute in this lovely home away from home. The setting, on a golf course and nestled in the woods, was beautiful and the house was roomy yet comfy at the same time. We appreciated the firewood that was left so we could have a nice fire, either inside or in the fire pit, during the chilly evenings. The house was immaculate and well-stocked and we look forward to coming back again!

  renting through lake toxaway company is a real pleasure. They have multiple properties and we have stayed in several. They are all well supplied and in great locations near lake toxaway, the country club and high in the mountains. There are few restaurants nearby but highland and cashiers are close enough and golf is everywhere.

  The house was very cozy and charming, albeit a little dark. We had a lovely stay there. My only suggestion would be that more comfortable outdoor furniture be obtained...we spent a lot of time outside, but the couch/chairs are not super-comfortable for older folks (my parents were with us).

  We had a wonderful weekend at Sweet Laurel Lodge. The floor plan allowed two families to spread out and “live” out of separate floors while gathering together in the well-appointed kitchen for breakfast and the living room for late night talks after the children were sent to bed. The gardens of huge rhododendron and mountain laurels was perfect for epic rounds of hide and seek. Sweet Laurel is close to the pool so we took advantage of that for dinner both nights after discovering that the pizza is amazing. We did make the 30 minute drive to Cashiers to wade in the river, slide down a waterfall and have a delicious lunch at Whiteside Brewing. Also, Rachel saved the day with her recommendation for gem mining at Bear Tracks. All of the adults and children agree that the weekend was perfect and cannot wait to come back again!

  Lovely, well furnished log cabin home on the 8th fairway at Lake Toxaway Country Club. Well-stocked with seasoned fire wood, propane for the grill, and, bonus, snow on Christmas day. Perfect for family get togethers; our adult children used the downstairs bedrooms and we used upstairs. Very quiet. The night the temperature dropped to 15 degrees, the house was very comfortable. Great location, lots of walking and hiking opportunities within a few miles, particularly Panthertown Valley, situated above the lake, and Gorges State Park a few miles to the west. Only one change I would make; some floor lamps with brighter bulbs for reading.

  We had a great time at Sweet Laurel. The Toxaway Company did a perfect job and their customer service leading up to and throughout our stay was perfect. The home itself is clean and perfectly situated with a beautiful view of the golf course. It is close enough to everything we wanted to do while there. It was clean and the owners had provided all of the items one would need for a comfortable stay .. including games, children’s activities and all kitchen items. Rachel at the Toxaway Co. was so accommodating and even called to check in on us our first day. We will definitely be back and would be thrilled to rent the Sweet Laurel.

  This was a wonderful house for my family's recent trip to Lake Toxaway. My husband and son are avid golfers so being on hole 8 was a major plus. The pictures make this house seem really dark and it's not. The living area was a great size and plenty of dining area. The back porch was great. It was charming and we hope to come back soon.

  Wonderful Cabin for our family of 5. Very cozy and felt like home from the moment we arrived. The location is fantastic, with only a 1-2 minute drive to the Country Club, Greystone & Marina. Everything was clean and neat. Plenty of linens, blankets, towels. Having 4 bathrooms was helpful and they are clean. Loved the board games and the hook game on the deck provided hours of entertainment. It was fun watching the golfers, but tree coverage provides perfect amount of privacy. We loved the Toxaway trail for hiking with a couple of waterfalls (bring water shoes). Headwaters Outfitters in Rosman about 15-20 min away provides River tubing, canoeing & trout-fishing - excellent customer service. Rented a boat one day and that was a beautiful way to see the lake and the kiddos got a chance to swim and tube. The staff at the Marina are very accommodating. The Country Club's pool was under construction, but it looks like it will be very nice. The food there is really good. We did delivery and carry-out with Greystone - limited offerings from the bar only menu but it was okay. Only a few restaurants within 10 minutes and some are closed Sunday and Monday so make sure to reserve in advance. Definitely make sure to get groceries in Brevard or Cashiers before getting to Toxaway. There is a small grocery store 5-10 minutes from the house that has basics and Wine and Beer but I think they're only open Tue-Fri or Sat. Very nice owner who is opening a coffee shop and ice cream shop across the street. Property Management was very responsive. Explored nearby towns. Cashiers is casual and Highlands is really nice and offers more upscale restaurants and boutiques. All-around great vacation and comfortable home base to explore the area.
