Fowlers Cottage

Enjoy gorgeous lake views at this small vintage cottage. Sleeping four, this two-bedroom, two full bath cottage offers many comforts in a beautiful lake-front setting. The cottage has two queen-size beds, with an additional two sets of bunk beds in the loft. The living room and dining room provide plenty of natural lighting, with ceiling-to-floor windows and multiple skylights adding to the airiness. The petite kitchen has high ceilings, a ceiling fan, and a skylight of its own. The appliances include a vintage Kitchen-Aid dishwasher, a GE cooktop/oven, and a new Bosch small European-sized refrigerator/freezer. The dining table seats six. Experience the cozy, charming, bright, lovely vintage vibe on a cottage-sized scale. This place has a get-outside-and-unplug type of atmosphere.
The many nearby waterfall hikes are a common activity. Head to the dock immediately behind the cottage to get an up-close view of the lake, or take to the water in a boat that can be rented through the Lake Toxaway Marina.
Golf, tennis, dining, swimming pools, and other resort amenities are available through the Lake Toxaway County Club during the months of May-November with a daily resort fee charge. The Greystone Inn is across the lake and is an elegant, pleasant, historic location for dining, drinks, a spa, and relaxing. The cottage includes free wi-fi, a large flat screen tv in the living room, a "30” flat screen in one of the bedrooms, a new Weber gas grill, and lake access.

Pets are not allowed.

Please note, you may not trailer a boat of any kind onto the waters of Lake Toxaway, as it is a private lake. Boat rentals are available through the Marina, which you may reach by calling or visiting online. Also, it is important to please note that the property is limited to the lawn and dock directly behind the cottage and that other docks and lawns are separately owned and strictly off- limits.

Optional access to the Lake Toxaway Country Club is available from April - November. *subject to daily resort and usage fees*

  The property is dated and could use a refresh. It's cozy (small). Beds are very firm and small. My wife and I had to sleep in separate rooms. Needs new pots and pans. It's located right next to the highway so you hear the cars and trucks. Beautiful view of the lake. TV didn't work. You need some sort of passcode that was not provided. We had a bear visit us the last morning. Exciting but scary. Thankfully it was the last day or we wouldn't have gone outside. Great restaurant within walking distance.

  Have left a list in the cottage of less than perfect conditions,but overall the cottage was bright , clean and comfortable.The view was charming, furniture satisfactory ,appliances I,d give a 3.   The cottage was perfect for our family of 3. The location on the lake was convenient for renting a boat and paddle board. The cottage also has a tennis court right next door which we used daily. It is a bit of a drive (~10-15 minutes) to the club house and golf course. There also is quite a bit of noise at the cottage because the unit backs up to a busy main road. Our only other consideration is that the cottage must typically have a dog living there. My family all has bad allergies - wish we would have asked about this before or the unit had been more deeply cleaned before our arrival. Overall though, we loved our stay at the cottage and will definitely be back to Lake Toxaway!

  Our rental was very nice. The location on the lake was beautiful.Unfortunately, there were no chairs for us to sit on the dock or sit around the fire pit. This unit was also right off the main road. So around 7am you would start hearing the cars roar by.One tiny bar of hand soap for each bathroom. I'd have to take the soap from the sink to the shower. No bathmat, so threw a towel on floor so not to slip. Shower also no mat to prevent slipping. I'm not prone to fall, just like to feel protected. Also, couldn't use the paddle boards or other fun stuff under the deck. Should have been locked up cause I never would want to be blamed for something broken or missing.

  Totally adorable 2 Bedroom, 2 bath condo with spectacular view of Lake plus private dock. The cottage was decorated tastefully and the beds were very comfortable. The contact person, Dave Guest, was very helpful, and everyone at the Country Club were friendly, especially Rachel.

  What a wonderful relaxing getaway with a beautiful view! The cottage is so cute and charming and impeccably decorated! My husband and son enjoyed catching tons of fish while I enjoyed relaxing. We ate at a wonderful restaurant that was literally steps away down the road. It was a great getaway! I highly recommend! Will definitely be back.
